Wear green for St Patrick's Day! publié le 15/03/2023

Voici un article rédigé par les élèves en 4e LCE Anglais pour vous parler de la Saint Patrick, fête irlandaise, célébrée le 17 mars.

Saint Patrick’s day is celebrated on March, 17th in Ireland and in the United States of America.

Saint Patrick is the Patron Saint of Ireland. He was born in the 5th century and died on the 17th of March 461. He was a Christian missionary : he converted Ireland to Christianity.
According to legends, he drove all the snakes away from Ireland and he used the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit).

On St Patrick’s day, people wear green clothes because it makes you invisible to leprechauns.
They also gather to watch parades of traditional Irish dancers and musicians. (Click hereto listen to traditional Irish music)
Irish-American people eat corned beef and cabbage. The Chicago river is completely dyed green.

So, WEAR GREEN OR YOU MIGHT GET PINCHED !
If you wear green, leprechauns can’t see you. ;)

Have a lucky day !
