Latillé, January 2026 —Collège Arthur Rimbaud, a rural middle school located in Latillé, Vienne, has been actively developing its international outreach since 2016 through eTwinning and since 2023 via the Erasmus+ program. The school’s approach is rooted in a collective effort to provide every student—regardless of their background or resources—with the opportunity to participate in an international mobility or interdisciplinary project during their middle school years. This initiative aims to combat social determinism and expand students’ horizons through meaningful educational experiences, transforming our collège into a vibrant hub of international exchange, innovation, and opportunity.

A Vision Rooted in Teamwork and Inclusivity

The school’s international projects are the result of teamwork involving teachers, administrative staff, families, and local partners. Since obtaining its Erasmus+ accreditation, Collège Arthur Rimbaud has strengthened its commitment to offering students cultural exchanges, job shadowing opportunities, and interdisciplinary learning activities. These initiatives are designed to foster curiosity, adaptability, and a global perspective among students.
The school’s participation in eTwinning since 2016 has enabled virtual collaborations with European partners (Northern Ireland, Italy, Majorca, Greece) bringing European classrooms together in meaningful ways, while Erasmus+ has facilitated physical mobilities, such as hosting students from Sweden or travelling to Cyprus and Sevilla in Spain. The OFAJ program, which is a specific French and German collaboration, has also allowed Arthur RIMBAUD’s students to exchange with German pupils in Strasbourg. These experiences are integrated into the curriculum to enhance learning in subjects such as science, physical education, and languages.

Breaking Down Barriers, One Project at a Time

Collège Arthur Rimbaud is dedicated to ensuring that all students benefit from international opportunities. The goal is to make mobility and cross-border projects accessible to every student, regardless of their socioeconomic situation. By embedding these experiences into the school’s educational framework, the school community seeks to promote equity and encourage personal and academic growth.

Through cross curricular projects, we connect subjects like media literacy, science, physical education, art and languages, making learning dynamic, relevant, and exciting. Our students don’t just study Europe ; they experience it. They collaborate with peers from Sweden, Spain, Cyprus, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Spain and beyond, gaining not only language skills but also cultural empathy, adaptability, and a global mindset.

A Community Effort

The success of these projects relies on the involvement of families, teachers, and local partners. Host families, municipal partners, and cultural organizations all play a key role in making these experiences possible. The school’s long-term vision is to prepare students to become open-minded, engaged citizens who are equipped to navigate an interconnected world.

Looking Ahead

As we look ahead, our ambitions only grow : to further its mission, the school is now working to expand its Erasmus+ initiatives by creating a consortium with local primary schools. This collaboration aims to :
• Introduce younger students to international projects through virtual exchanges, storytelling, and joint activities.
• Strengthen the continuity of international education from primary to middle school.
• Share resources and expertise among teachers to develop age-appropriate, interdisciplinary projects.
By involving primary schools, Collège Arthur Rimbaud seeks to create a cohesive path for international learning, ensuring that students are exposed to global perspectives from an early age.
Collège Arthur Rimbaud plans to continue developing new projects, with a focus on health, well-being, and green mobility. The school remains committed to its philosophy : international openness as a tool for academic success and personal fulfillment.
