Creating a solar oven

A SOLAR OVEN

First, we tried to make a model of a solar oven without our teachers. We tried to make different models. In two hours each of us managed to prepare the model as we thought it would be best.

Then, together with our Physics teacher, Mr Stare, we decided which model of the solar oven would be the most suitable and set to work.

We drew a plan and thought of the measures. We collected the material and began cutting out the individual parts of the solar oven. When all the parts were prepared, we put them together, and then we tried to check the reflection of the sun with the help of a laser beam.

We made the solar oven in this way :
We used a box and covered it with an aluminium paper. The box was big enough to put a pan inside it. After the covering with the aluminium paper we tested the oven by exposing it to the sunrays and we also used a little cuisine thermometer to know the inside temperature. We realized that the temperature was high enough to cook small quantities or to warm dishes already cooked.
