Thursday, April 12th

Today has been a great day...

First, nobody was ill any longer.
Then the weather was as good as we could hope.
And the activities were various and very interesting.

We decided to travel by bus instead of using the tube. It helped us realise how big London is. It took us an hour to get to King ’s Cross were we changed for the tube.

We went to see the Tower of London and Tower Bridge.

And we thought it would be great to do a short cruise on the river Thames from Tower Bridge to Embankment. We saw the modern skyscrapers that are being built like the Shard. We went past the Globe Theatre and, in the distance, we could see Big Ben and the London Eye.

We walked to Whitehall where we saw the horseguards « trooping the colours ». We walked across St James’s Park and arrived at Buckingham Palace at 11:30 for the changing of the guards.

We had our picnic in Green Park. Then we walked to Piccadilly Circus where we could do a little shopping.

We spent the afternoon at Wimbledon Lawn Museum, the temple of tennis !
It was as magic as Wembley Stadium ! We had two minutes of rain before taking the tube back to Seven Sisters station from which we took the train to Edmonton Green.

At 7:00, we met our host families again.

See you tomorrow. Sleep well.

Bye for now.
